What changes when your child turns seven
Somewhere around her seventh birthday, something in your child shifts. You may not be able to name it right away, but you feel it — a change in how she stands in the world, in how aligned the two of you feel. This is quite normal. The first cycle of seven years ends, and this is the start of a new period. At seven your child is for the first time at it's own and become a different personality.

The energetic bond between mother and child
From birth until roughly age seven, your child stays energetically connected to you through chakra cords that link your auras together. Distance rarely breaks this. Whether she's in the next room or across the country, she remains tied to you. Only long emotional distance, or a very large physical one, will lead her to form her primary bond with someone else instead — and if another caregiver is consistently present in her life, she simply grows a second bond alongside the one with you, not instead of it.
Sometimes, though, physical closeness does matter enormously. When your child is sick, she heals faster within your aura — she can draw directly on your energy. I've held my daughter through illnesses that were gone within hours, simply because I stayed close. Your aura is a safe haven her body knows how to use
.
How do a mother's and child's feelings influence each other?
This same connection means your child regulates her emotions through you. When she overflows, you feel it too — in your own body, not just in your patience. When she's overtired, she draws on your energy to get through the day.
I didn't understand this at first. I'd feel angry when she was angry, exhausted when she was exhausted, and assumed it was simply mine to carry. Once I realized I was picking up her emotions, I could respond differently — putting her to bed when the tiredness hit, giving myself a pause when I felt anger rising, and checking what she actually needed instead of what I thought I felt. It changed everything. If you've ever been inexplicably drained or irritable around your child for no reason you can name, it may not be your feeling at all. It may be hers, passing straight through you.
How do mother and baby communicate before words?
Your aura and that of your child share information with each other. In these first seven years, your thoughts, emotions, and even physical sensations pass between you and your child in both directions, automatically. This is how small children tell you what they need before they have words for it: hunger, thirst, distress.
It's also how they reach you when something is truly wrong. I once felt a persistent pain in my own arm, right around the time I noticed my daughter wasn't using hers quite right. The doctors found nothing. But the pain told me otherwise, and I went back. She had a bone infection.
Mothers usually call this "a gut feeling," or "intuition" — but it's simply the connection doing what it's built to do. It's easily to ignore if you don't have the facts ready, but it's the most trusted way to feel what your child needs and what kind of decisions you should make.
What changes when a child turns seven?
This is the part most parents never hear: right around the seventh year, your child releases the chakra cord that connect to your aura. It marks the end of the first seven-year cycle and the start of the second — and for the first time, she has an aura strong enough to hold and protect herself.
For some children, it happens almost overnight — the cords are, quite literally, cut, and you may notice her react "differently" than you're used to, seemingly out of nowhere. For others, it happens more slowly: the connection thins, drifts toward the edge of your aura, and you simply feel a little less in sync than before. If you're sensitive to it, you can feel this letting go happening in real time.
The bond doesn't disappear afterward — it settles into something new, closer to how people generally connect with one another. But this is the moment your child truly begins building her own identity, separate from yours. It's also, not coincidentally, why so many children seem to become someone slightly different in their seventh or eighth year — their aura is now shaping their character on its own terms, no longer so tightly woven into yours.
What does a child carry into the next stage of life?
Everything she carries into that independence, she built during these first seven years — out of the materials you gave her. Your fears, your unresolved pain, but also your strength, your love, your self-belief: all of it became part of her foundation, whether you meant to pass it on or not.
That's not a reason for guilt. It's an invitation. Every bit of healing you do — before or during these first seven years — becomes something she gets to build with too. The stronger and more whole you become, the stronger the foundation she carries with her when she finally lets go.
So if your child is nearing seven, or has just crossed it, and something between you feels different — trust that. It isn't loss. It's the connection doing exactly what it was always meant to do.
